Frequently Asked Questions

Who are chiropractors and what do they do?

Chiropractors are licensed, regulated, primary care providers that receive a minimum 7-year post-secondary education. They are doctors with extensive knowledge regarding the health of the spine, joints, musculoskeletal system and nervous system. They are trained to assess, diagnose and treat conditions of these systems, guided by the most recent, relevant literature. They also have the ability to take/order and interpret X-rays.

Chiropractors use non-invasive, drug-free methods of manual treatment to reduce pain, promote recovery, improve quality of life and prevent injuries.

Will I have to keep going to the chiropractor forever?

My goal is to relieve your pain and to teach you ways to maintain that pain-free state. Many of my clients see me for an initial period after they injure themselves and then don’t see me again unless they injure themselves again. There are some conditions, however, that require maintenance throughout your life. As a practitioner I am always up front with my patients about what I think they need and I take into consideration what their goals are. Between the two we develop a solution that works best for your situation.

Do we have direct billing?

I do not have direct billing at any of my clinics. Receipts are provided after each treatment for insurance submission.

What is that “cracking” noise?

The “cracking” noise you hear when you crack your knuckles or have an adjustment is gas being released from the joint. The sound alone is not bad for you. The only thing that can be bad for you is if you force your joints past their normal range of motion constantly. If you get a noise with some of your normal range of motion that is totally normal!

Do I have to get adjusted if I go to a chiropractor?

No, you don’t. All treatment programs are developed based on your individual needs and preferences.

Do you take MVA or WSIB claims?

No, none of the clinics that I work out of currently address MVA or WSIB claims.

What should I wear to my sessions?

If you have your lower body being worked on you want to bring shorts to change into. If you have your upper body being worked on a tank top is best or loose fitting t shirt.
